Storytelling Platform

storytelling

The Sport4Change storytelling platform stemmed from a real desire from the sport for development community to communicate the wonderful things that sport is doing across communities in Canada.    Storytelling was selected as the most appropriate medium to share first-hand experiences of  how the intentional use of sport has led to enhanced social outcomes such as better newcomer  integration, increased community involvement and crime prevention. This online platform will    be launching in Fall 2011!

Here are some ways that you can get involved:

  •  do you have any existing stories (text, audio or video) that speak to the intentional use of  sport to make a difference in the lives of neighbourhoods, communities and organizations?
  • do you have any ideas that we could help develop into full-fledged stories?  If you do, please share them with us

Beyond the stories themselves, there are other ways to contribute.

  • Are you able to provide resources, financial or otherwise, that would help to sustain the platform once it's launched in Fall 2011?
  • Is there a creative staff member who might be able to contribute some time and energy to help S4D organizations develop new stories for the platform? - Can you contribute translation, web hosting or technical expertise?
The online platform is set to launch in winter 2012 – stay tuned for the launch date! For more information about the platform, or to submit a story, contact Jessica Young, jessica.young@sportmatters.ca or 613-231-7472 x 246.
