Ipsos Reid published a report in November 2011 entitled "Canadians’ Perceptions of, and Support for, Potential Measures to Prevent and Reduce Childhood Obesity". This report was prepared for the Public Health Agency of Canada, and its purpose is described as follows:
The purpose of this project was to collect critical information on Canadian adults' knowledge of, and attitudes towards, childhood obesity, and on their level of support for a range of actions aimed at its prevention and reduction. The key objectives were to assess current levels of the following: general knowledge and awareness of childhood obesity in Canada; issue saliency; and roles of government, parents, the public and the private sector.
