Working Together Initiative

WTI

The Working Together Initiative (WTI) is a initiative committed to innovation in public sector governance and collective action. It is a group of individuals, NGOs, and government departments (federal and provincial) that have pooled their resources to explore how sports and physical activity can achieve and leverage multiple policy objectives as well as learning how to work more effectively across boundaries.

Sport for Development

Sport for development involves tapping into what sport can do “intentionally” to address a range of community priorities, such as community building, health promotion, Aboriginal youth engagement, economic revitalization, newcomer settlement, citizen participation and conflict resolution. S4C Storytelling Platform

This initiative stems from a real desire from the sport for development community to communicate the wonderful things that sport is doing across communities in Canada. Storytelling was selected as the most appropriate medium to share first-hand experiences of how the intentional use of sport has led to enhanced social outcomes such as better newcomer integration, increased community involvement and crime prevention. This online platform will be launching in Fall 2011! To learn more click here
